On the 10th and 11th of September 2001, Tokyo was hit by a typhoon.
While I regret the delays and injuries that others suffered in the typhoon, I confess to having enjoyed it immensely. (I like contemplating typhoons in the day, and sleep blissfully through them at night.)
The clouds started to lift during late afternoon of the 11th, and just as the sun was about to set there were patches of blue in the sky. I opened the window of my "9th" (11th) floor office, and poked my camera out at the somewhat gaudy and apocalyptic skyscape.
Four hours later, I heard that something unusual had happened in Manhattan. . . .
